Names, addresses and ages of the children, plus evidence that the instructor holds a high school diploma or equivalent, or a post-secondary degree or certificate from a regionally accredited or state-authorised institution.
On or before 30 JUNE of the school year covered
Goes to: SUBMITTED to the county superintendent
Four options: (1) a portfolio of the child's work reviewed by a certified teacher who writes a narrative on reading, language arts, mathematics, science and social studies and notes any areas needing remediation; (2) a nationally normed standardized achievement test; (3) participation in the state testing programme; or (4) an alternative academic assessment mutually agreed by the parent and the superintendent.
Filing on time is the easy half. The harder half is the year in between: showing what your child actually learned, in words the reviewer recognises, without turning your home into a school.
